Q. What should I do to prepare?
A. Drink plenty of water and relax, it's almost time for a massage.
Q. Should I arrive early?
A. If this is your first apointment with me please arrive 5 minutes early to fill out a quick form.
Q. Will I have to get naked?
A. No. You will only undress down to your comfort level. Only the area that is being worked on will be exposed. You will be under a sheet and blanket (just like in bed) the enitre session.
Q. What is deep tissue massage?
A. Deep tissue massage is an actual modality that allows me to access deeper points within the muscles. It involves more sub-muscular and fascia friction techniques. It is not the same as a deep pressure preference.
Q. What happens if it hurts?
A. Communicate any discomfort immediately. As a practitioner I do not expect you to just "breathe through it". These sessions are designed for your comfort and should be treated as such. Some points in the body are more sensitive than others, so always feel free to ask for more or less pressure at any point.
Q. Should I talk?
A. Only if you would like. I will not initiate conversation but feel free to chat if it makes you more comfortable.
Q. Do I have to move?
A. No. Just relax. If I need to access a certain point that involves movement, let me do all the "heavy lifting". Engaging muscles can actually have an opposing effect.
Q. Do people fall asleep?
A. All the time. These sessions are designed and tailored to fit your needs. If you need a nap - feel free to doze off.
Q. What happens after the session?
A. I will come back into the room after you have dressed to talk about our session. This may include suggestions for self-care, findings, etc. I make it a point to spend time with every client to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Q. Can I bring my own lotion?
A. Absolutely. If you have a preference feel free to bring in any lotion or oil from home.
Q. What is reflexology?
A. It is a modality that uses a "map" in the feet to identify problem areas throughout the body. (Please see the reference page for more detail)
Q. How do I re-book?
A. All appointments can be re-booked in the office or online at your earliest convienence.
